GREAT little chinese food place just outside Camden tube station.
Because of the huge variety of food in Camden, its easily overlooked but it really is worth a try, and its mega cheap as well!
They don't take credit card, but if you're in Camden, i'd be carrying cash anyways.
MEGA cheap, you can get a takeaway box for 3.50 Small 4.50 Large and get as much as you can fit in the box!
It is all Vegetarian food, but DONT let this affect your judgement- I took my boyfriend here who has never liked vegetarian/quorn meat, or vegetarian food in general, and he loved it! I'm not vegetarian myself, but the food is so well-flavoured and yummy, I didnt even notice the first time I went!
Really recommend the sweet and sour 'chicken' and their spring rolls are absolutely delicious. Staff are friendly, but don't speak great English; in my opinion the food speaks for itself!
TIP- If you need parking, the Sainsbury's Car Park is just behind it and if you try/like the takeaway box? Its a really lovely and cheap place for a sit down meal. -

Ive dined here three times. Always quiet which is nice. Good range of food but sometimes disappointing. A great deal yes, but the food is often "topped up" and not replaced so you run into the odd old, hard spring roll or noodle.

This might be one of the last 'Tai' vegan buffets in London; there used to be one in Bloomsbury that closed down. And another in Soho that closed down. I actually remember seeing more of these shops everywhere a decade back. While the food was actually tasty food, there was a tawdry sense of forwardness to get people in the door. The servers were barkers, once they got you in the door, they would hand you a plate and go back outside. And you could hear them yelling outside, pointing to the customer, me, eating their food.
I figured that they probably didn't give a damn that it was vegan, but made the buffet vegan because they can leave out the food for a long time because old vegan food can't really make people sick. It doesn't spoil quite like milk or meat.
Anyway, I am unsure why this one is the (almost last one) standing but hear, hear. It's got all the textured veggie and soy protein favorites that I have come to like from the other Chinese/Thai-style buffets. It has got, my personal favorite, soy chicken and other soy juicies. Everything is fresh here. Along with stir fried veggies, cold cabbage, fruit and really good rice. Why oh why is there no more of these in not-Camden Town? I mentioned before that sometimes the food is left out for a while. This place seems to freshen up at least a few items an hour. Nothing tasted like it was out, waiting for me to eat it, too long. -

This is fun tasty all you can eat Chinese/Thai restaurant in Camden! It says vegetarian outside, but all of the dishes are actually vegan!!
There is a range of cold starters including vegan prawn crackers(?!), which are a strange concept but pretty tasty! They also have a selection of warm dishes which are mainly different curries - there is a peanut curry which is especially good. Some of the meat substitutes are a bit chewy and tasteless, so I just loaded up on veggies which was yum.
For pudding they have a fruit selection: a fruit salad, some dried fruits or fresh fruits!
I enjoyed it here! A good spot for a veggie/vegan if you fancy some Asian cuisine. Be aware though that they will add on a service charge, despite you serving yourself =p -

One thing I learned from my brief time in Camden Town on this trip to the United Kingdom is that I'm not cool enough for the neighborhood anymore. The look I got nearby at the British Boot Company when I tried to look at Doc Martens showed me that. But I can still eat every bit as much as the starving young hipsters and malcontents in the neighborhood, so I was thankful for this bargain Asian buffet.
Surround by vegans half my age, I was still able to enjoy an incredible set of hot bar dishes free of meat including a vegetarian sweet and sour chicken that I went back for fourths on. I also very much enjoyed their spicy "beef." Even though I was not prepared for the amount of hotness in the dish, it was delicious when it was combined with rice. I do have to say that most of the buffet items that I tried tasted more like the sauce than the protein they were supposed to imitate, they know how to make a sauce correctly.
The cold bar left a bit more to be desired. While the hot bar borders right on the kitchen where you can see the cooks bring out fresh veggie protein, the cold bar seems to sit around for a while. The noodles were kind of sticky and gross. And the cold bar was completely missing desserts! Unless you count fruits. And I don't.
But I still liked this place a lot because they gave us free tea (it's supposed to be a bit over a pound unless you order it as a combo) and they were dirt cheap for a ton of food. Plus, there are a ton of seats and you can people watch on Kentish Town Road while eating. So you can enjoy the scene in Camden even if you're not cool enough for it anymore.
